Participant Feedback
“Diverse Pathways for Early Childhood is 'must attend' training for anyone who is passionate about neurodiversity affirming practice. Kerry was so inspirational, knowledgeable and the content and resources that accompanied the training are of such high quality. Thoroughly enjoyed this training.”
“As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, play is central to our therapy and the support we provide. Traditionally, OT training in paediatrics has focused on developmental milestones for typically developing or able-bodied children. In practice, we can see that this is not helpful for many of the children we work with who are neurodivergent or have a disability. This training really challenges the concept of ‘typical’ developmental milestones, reframes what we mean by ‘play’, and encourages us to view a child’s play from their unique perspective, rather than pathologising their preferred style of play.”
“Kerry is a welcome voice in early childhood. Compassionate, wise, and practical, and unusual combination. I'm so glad to have these resources to use and direct others to.”
“Thank you very much for the seminars you deliver. We often discuss them at work, and they motivate us to reflect on our practice — on what we can improve and what is already working well.”
“I would definitely recommend the Neurodiversity Affirming Practice online training sessions. The sessions are very informative and interesting with brilliant resources provided after each session. I like the pace of the sessions and that there are opportunities to ask questions and contribute in ways that feel comfortable for each participant. I also like that the sessions are recorded so that you can catch up in your own time if you miss the live session. As a Childminder I will definitely use what I have learned to develop my knowledge and practice.”
Diverse Pathways for Early Childhood is a neurodiversity affirming training and resource space for early years practice. The focus is on recognising and reducing ableism and neuronormativity in the early years, and building practice that protects children’s dignity, communication, autonomy, and belonging. This training is designed for early years educators, childminders, SENCOs, early years leads, family support, and specialist practitioners (including speech and language, OT, portage, advisory teams). Parents and carers are welcome too, especially if you are looking for a clearer, more affirming way to understand play, communication, and behaviour.
Pathway Sessions (Live): live sessions where we explore a topic together in real time. These are interactive and include space for reflection and questions. These take place on Zoom and recording available for one-month following the session. Pathway Collaborate: as Diverse Pathways grows, we are creating more collaborations within our collective and beyond. These sessions are designed so you can hear from others with wide ranging expertise. Pathway Playback: access to a recorded session (usually a previously delivered Pathway Session). This is ideal if you want the learning but cannot attend live, or you prefer to watch in your own time. Pathway Modules: longer, structured learning experiences recorded slide by slide inside Thinkific. These are more in depth than Playback, with clearer sequencing, more examples, and practical tools you can take straight into practice.
Your access length is shown on each product at checkout.
Once you have completed the evaluation within the Pathway session, you can download a generic certificate for the relevant Pathway session.
If you have purchased a live Pathway Session and cannot attend, you can still access the learning via the recording where this is offered. Recordings typically appear after the session once they have been uploaded and checked.
Parents and carers are welcome. The focus is early childhood practice, so some content is written with educators in mind, but the approach is accessible and the core ideas translate well into home life too.
Your purchase is for individual access unless you have arranged a team or setting licence. You are very welcome to share your learning, reflections, and practice changes with your team, but please do not share course logins, downloads, or recordings. If you want multi staff access, contact me and I can suggest the best option for your setting.
